Fireplace
My Georgetown electric fireplace does not provide much heat unless you sit close to it, and I always sit on the sofa across the room. I consider it wasted space and am thinking about ripping out the whole thing and replacing it with more cabinets. Has anyone done that?

Is the fan working? I have a Dimplex and it has 3 switches: one for ambience, one for heat and one for fan. I have a 38' Montana and it keeps the living room area toasty.

I'm not sure who the maker is on mine, but we really love it. On high, it's a 1500 Watt space heater with a fan and warms the living area quite nicely. I usually turn it down to the 750 Watt level because things get too warm at 1500. I'd be insane to tear it out and my wife would kill me if I did!

Jerry,
Check and see if you have the three switches because one of them has to be the fan. we used ours fire place in Oct and it kept the whole coach warm all night.

Ours has two continuous heat settings 750/1500 fan on nonstop
It also has a thermostat to set temp up to 80 - it will cycle on/off
It also has flame only no heat for looks

^^^ mine is just like yours. Mine heats my whole 40ft camper. Had a 3 night weekend in October, highs of 61, lows of 38 with the furnace thermostat set at 72* and the furnace never turned on once through the weekend, fireplace kept it all warm which I was shocked about.

For what it may be worth, the wife doesn't care for the faux stone façade of our fireplace. So I was looking at how to remove it and update the look. The stone look is stapled or brad nailed in place. If you get a long screw driver or pry bar you can pop it off all in one piece. The fireplace is held in place with a few screws and pine framing.
I feel sure that if you were to remove it you would have no problem selling it if quick fashion.

OH, what I ended up doing is pulling the brads out of the façade and apply Velcro to it. Now when I feel the need I can pull the façade off and place valuables beside the fireplace and then Velcro the stone look back in place. Makes for a great area to conceal items out of sight.

Ours has cherry cabinetry and Estone counter top to match kitchen - no stone facade. -- looks very nice built in
The 42" TV comes up on the lift from behind fireplace

Keep one thing in mind in real cold weather. When using the electric fireplace instead of the furnace your undercarriage is NOT being heated and it may freeze up.
So use care.

We have no danger of that in Ohio
We are winterized in October and do not use it again until April 😞 if it warms enough to get to our seasonal spot 👍

ON my fireplace, there is a cover that flips down on the bottom.
Under that cover are adjustmnet knobs for heat level, fan speed and 'flame' type.
Have you checked the adjustments?

What a lot do not realize is that no matter how you dress it up, it is at most a 1500w space heater. It cannot do any better on 110v

We absolutely love ours, use electric over propane to heat our 32' fifth wheel, wouldn't have it any other way!
