Firman 3300 watt inverter generator

Hi. Was wondering if anyone has any real experience with this genny camping. Grabbing one off Costco.ca. The reviews are great there. $799 Canadian with shipping. Not looking to start a genny conversation or debate. I know Honda and Yamaha are preferable and champion has mixed reviews. Just looking for any input on this particular model. Only negative I've seen is some chokes have needed an adjustment out of the box. Thanks

Dave

Chinese generator but according to internet, larger models have Kohler engines. Probably too new of a model to be rated in the RV arena.

I've one of these units inbound via Costco.ca. Had the sights set on the 3100/3400W Dual Fuel Champion that Costco was carrying but when I went to pull the trigger recently, it was no longer on inventory. Options are limited in these parts. Crappy Tire has the gas only 3100/3400W Champion and it's currently on for $1199 (reg $1399) but that's still 400 bucks more than the Firman and shipping was included. Interestingly, the engine in this unit appears to be identical to that which powers Champion's 2800/3100W genny, which as of late, is all the rage with RVers. We'll see...

Firman appears to know a wee bit about generators:

I bought this one and have used it several times now. Nice and quiet, starts first pull, runs my 13,500BTU air and all lights no problem. I like that it has a button to run in econo mode to save fuel. All in all, this is a very nice generator, you will not be disappointed. Bonus....Walmart.ca has a Firman cover for $39.00, just got mine yesterday and fits great!

I think Honda had better watch out, Firman might just take over the generator market.

If that's the case then it would cost more to repair the Honda, another reason to go Firman.
