My Wife and I had a 2004 Avalanche 4X4. Our 28DBUD weighs in around 6700 (we assume) The suspension of the truck handled it well, but I agree Jay68442, the 5.3L is VERY underpowered, you definitely knew when you were pulling up a hill. Avalanches with the Hydroboost brakes are not that good when nothing is on the back, much less with a trailer, but I think your braking upgrades will make all the difference in the world. We upgraded to a Hemi ram for a little more motor.
