I think diesel will be going up faster than gasoline. The alternate pipeline has been switched from diesel to gasoline according to the news.

I had wondered why the price of fuel has been going Down in the mid west. I guess to get rid of the over supply that can not be moved into the east from the gulf.

Gouging, but different story. Years ago we had a real bad ice storm. Several counties without power bla bla. The gas stations that had power marked their fuel way up...I don't remember... 1 or 2 dollars a gallon. I haven't been back to a couple of them since. There were people trying to make it and they are gouging people. I worked at my job..alone...with a flashlight just to try and help people.

I asked a high line man how bad this storm was? He said it was the hurricane Andrew of ice storms. There were people from thousands of miles away in to work.
Sorry to high jack.

Do you have any idea why Canadian gas is so much higher than US?
Is it mostly taxes? Does this pay for the free medical help?
Just curious. Thanks

Why is Gasoline More Expensive in Canada Than the United States?

Excellent point. LOL

That would be my guess as well.

Lots of supply but with no way to supply the NE and SE in quantity, more is being sent to other areas, increasing supply there.

Our Oregon coast gas price has not dropped below2.49 here even though it did drop to 2.14 in Salem. Talk about greedy gougers...we got them bigtime.

Few years back when there was a gas shortage in the Atlanta area due to drilling shutdowns during a hurricane. The same "state of emergency" was in effect. I know of at least two independent stations that raised prices to over $4.00 a gallon and were hit with fines in excess of $100,000. It bankrupted both and they went out of business.
