Paid $2.04 at 7pm yesterday. When I drove past the same station at 9pm the price was $2.20. Last week it was $1.89.

Go figure.

North of Nashville, TN prices went from $1.98 to $2.19 yesterday. Stations south of Nashville are already running out of fuel supply.

How does this create an opportunity to gouge the consumer?

Friend of mine from Sieverville, TN wrote me an email this morning and said that if he could get some gas today, he would be going to a car show.

He said the pipe break has shut down the supply o gas, many station are out of gas. It appears to be much worse than what he said.

If you want to be gouged come up to Alberta, .94 per litre = $3.60 per US gallon. That is one of the cheaper gas stations and Alberta is the least expensive in Canada.

Yah, it will take another day but it will run the price up here, glad I filled the truck up before it happened.

Yes but $3.60 in our dollars is only about $0.74 US $. Here in Ontario we just paid .987/L. Almost afraid to leave the campground and head home Monday.

Dunno... yet. Camper is full, filled my bride's car up last night at $1.95, want to make sure she can get to work next week.

Supposedly the Sheetz stations in the large city north of me have run out of fuel. Colonial has terminals just around the corner from my office. It is what it are. If I can't get gas that is my company's problem, I just won't go anywhere.

During hurricane season I never go below half a tank and fill up BEFORE any storm is likely to hit. We have 8 road going vehicles on the property and that rule applies to all of them.

Could be considered gouging by some. Distributors and stations have fixed costs that continues whether the they sell fuel or not. They need some way to cover the cost of lost/reduced sales.

Hopefully, this will be a short lived event.

According to this article, the same company has a second parallel pipeline that normally transports diesel, that they have converted over to gasoline.

It also states a tanker ship has left Texas on the way to New York, as well as the reasons that the governors declares states of emergencies is that it changes the regs concerning gas delivery by truck.

It does mention one of the bigger problems, is that people will start making runs on fuel stations, creating even more shortages than normal...since they are afraid they will run out of gas....furthermore driving up prices.

Well a butterfly must have flapped its wings in an Amazon forest because gas in Ontario is over a $1 a liter.

Geez ~ I really can't wait! Our gas in Northeastern Vermont has never gotten below $2.18, folks from Quebec traveling up and down I-91 & I-93 seem to enjoy filling up each direction of travel.
