Yeah, sometimes people make me laugh. Now, to each his own. I don't care how the next guy does it but we spend 10's of thousands of dollars on these rigs and then worry about saving $100 a year in propane or whatever it might be. This is an expensive hobby to have so why worry about the little stuff?
To the food question, we will have an extra mini fridge as well. Beverages will go in that fridge so if there is a power outage, no harm done. Leave the inside fridge so it will run on propane and then everything will stay nice and cold until the following weekend. Only other thing you might have to consider in the dry food is possibly melting stuff. When it gets hot out and your rig is all closed up it gets pretty stuffy in there. If you have chocolates or something like that it could melt. Might want to throw those in the fridge.
