First trip plannned!

Winter in the north east has been tough! Our new flagstaff 8528bhws is waiting patiently for us at the dealer. Opening weekend is March 28th at our closest KOA in Newburgh NY. We booked it and are just hoping the snow melts by then! Now to get the hitch installed in my truck!!!

We are also thinking about a week on the cape in August and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a campground close to the ocean, close to interesting sights and such....any thoughts would be appreciated

Cape Cod

We have stayed at this CG a few times and find it very nice. You will need to travel to get to the beach but there are some beautiful National Sea Shore beaches not far. We live just off the Cape and camp there in the off season.
Sweetwater Forest Cape Cod's Family Campground since 1958

There are also 2 State Campgrounds on the Cape but as with most dont have full hookups.

We have Sweetwater booked for the second week in September. We like the campground but it does NOT have a pool, hot tub etc. You would have to buy a beach permit for the week. There's a gorgeous campground in Falmouth which has all the popular amenities and fills up quick.

Maybe I will see you there at the Newburgh KOA, We go there a lot, 21 miles from home. That is always one of our first trips of the season., just to get the camping season started. I thing we are going the first two weekends in April....

Good luck with the new camper......

We did not order ours, rather saw it an RV show in rockland county and purchased it there. I honestly would not have ordered ours, since I did not know I was looking for one, my wife saw it and well the rest is history. ( though she still think sit was me who HAD to have it)

We are also going in April. The kids have spring break starting the 14. So we are going up on Saturday the 12th and staying till wednesday. We go there quite frequently as its only an hour for us. In the spring we often come home on Saturdays for kids sports, and head right back.
I'll be easy to spot........chair out in front of camper staring at it!

First Congrats to Aca651 on the new RV. We ordered ours and it took 10 weeks to the day to have it delivered to the dealer in California. It'll be worth the wait.

I feel ya. My first RV is sitting on a dealers lot in Buffalo, NY. I'm going up to Killington, VT to go skiing next week to go skiing, and once that's done, this white crap can go away, as far as I'm concerned. I've got camping to do!

With more snow on the way, I am seriously wondering if they are going to be up and running. I hope so... But I don't know if the 1 to 1 1/2 feet of snow on the ground will be melted by then.

Here in Colorado we have had snow but the heavy amounts have been up in the mountains. Ski areas are loving it! As for me I am counting the days until April 18th, our first trip of the season. Just the local State Park, Cheyenne Mt, it makes for a great place to shake the winter blues and ensure the Cat is cleaned, pumped and primed for a busy summer. I saw a hyacinth flower this week so spring can't be too far away.

A little north of there, Rosendale, a number of years ago in mid April, we went to camp at the 4th Benniwater Lake only to find it frozen!
