Heck...last year, I had to set up in 3" of water!

The site we were assigned was apparently in a "hole".

I put my sandals on, put on a rain coat and had at it. As soon as the camper was level side to side and off the truck, I put the slide out and awning out and put the wife and tot in the camper while I leveled front to back and got the stabilizers down and water/electric hooked up. As soon as that stuff was complete, I went inside until it stopped raining.

Try to have all equipment/tools staged for easy efficient access either in trailer or tow vehicle. Take enough time to do the setup correctly and safely. Have a change of dry clothes ready in trailer. Enjoy adult beverage, and game with family.

Well I made it. The heavy stuff moved out till after 2:00 P.M. EST. here. I got a little wet but didn't need the rain coat.

Latest forecast shows no rain tomorrow. Cool but no rain. I'll take it.

And there you have it... three pages of what to do if it rains during set-up and you didn't even need your rain coat.

Happy Camping!

There are only 2 of us and we work as a team. I will have the level in the trailer and look to see where we have to level (boards under wheels). Once we are good I start putting blocks out to stabilize. Then we hook up and get inside. Teamwork works great.

Strap on pontoons and let it float. Just remember to bring a mud anchor.

Me too. I always enjoy watching everyone pull in on Fridays. Lots of class A's here today.

I keep a set of Frog Togg rain jacket and pants as well as a Frog Togg rain poncho in my TT. Having the pants and jacket will keep you dry although it can make you hot if the weather is hot while it is raining. I also purchased rain boots that live in the TT for use with the Frog Toggs. These items have meant the difference between tearing down camp soaking wet or being able to take off the Frog Toggs when I am ready to pull out of the site and am dry. Frog Toggs are sold at Walmart and the likes and are not overly expensive.

The nice thing about a fifth wheel is that one can just pull into the camp site, scoot into the RV and wait for the rain to ease up.
Just did that yesterday here in DC as it was pouring for several hours during the tow here and then we waited another hour for the rain to quit.

If it's not to windy first thing I do is put out the Awning gives you a dry spot. Ours is power though. We love a little rain when camping at the Coast as long as there is no wind

1. Trade in for a Class A before you leave.
2. Pull in to your pull though site.
3. Push the auto leveling button.
4. Turn on generator switch on dashboard.
5. Push slideout button.
6. Pop in a DVD or use the OTA antenna and wait till the rain stops!

There's no good answer. Just be organized and set up your basic needs. The rest can wait. Oh yeah, and sing "Rain drops keep falling on my head" at the top of your voice!

Exactly, with or without the raincoat. Slow and methodical. We live in S Louisiana, it rains a lot here. We have discovered we do not melt so we just do what we have to do, no problem.
