Flat towing

Has anyone encountered any issues when towing a full size vehicle mainly a 2016 Chevy Tahoe that has the electronic crash feature on it. after we disconnect from the blue ox system we are getting messages coming up with Automatic Collision prep unavailable, Front radar blocked. any help you can provide would be great.

Are you pulling the negative battery terminal? Also on some models with the look ahead features are not flat towable. Not seeing anything like that on the FMCA page but I would double check the owners Manual.

Soom bars can be used with the system and some can't. Do you know that yours is designed to be used with the Collision system? Have you check to see what's blocking the front radar?

Dan would pulling the negative battery turn off the radar? FMCA towing guide says to pull the battery cable.

I'm not sure Phil. Even though the directions for my truck say to disconnect the battery, some base plates indicate they still will not work.

And I think OP is Saying after he disconnects his tow bar something is still blocking the radar. I think his base plate is blocking the sensor all the time.

Depending on the sensor view angle, possibly even a small bracket to the side of the emitter could cause an issue. Not sure, just a thought.

flat tow

GM says the Tahoe can be flat towed so we are good there. We disconnect the battery prior to flat towing. GM has realigned the sensor as well as replaced the module on the vehicle. Before they replace the module the automatic collision prep as well as the front señor block light would come on all the time. Now it intermittently. Which has GM and blue ox scratching there head as to what causing it. So my question is there anyone that has a Tahoe or vehicle similar that has encounter this problem.
