Florida Panhandle not so good to us this year

This video is why we will spend our time in south FL next winter and
not move to the panhandle for half of it.
We've had decent or even good weather in the panhandle but odds are not
in favor of that- at least in February.

This video was taken at St. Joseph Peninsula state park near
Apalachicola and not far from St. George Island.
Taken Feb 26, 2013 but was typical of most of our 7 days there.

I feel for you, I spent 2-16-13 thru 2-26-13 in Tallahassee with 14" of rain from 24-26. Decided to cut my vacation short since they were predicting four more days of rain at St Joe where I was headed. Northern Florida that time of year is very unpredictable with weather almost like we have here in northern texas.

You do not like waves ?

Looks to be very windy, I would hate that much wind day in day out ...

Thanks for sharing. I will keep that in the back of my mind if we ever do a winter trip to Florida!

We have had some good wind this year. We're further south but being at the beach getting sandblasted isn't much fun...... Actually, we've had more of a winter than some years (don't laugh, I know it's nothing compared to what most of the US/Canada is used to) still, it's for folks who travel down ~ they don't expect wet and windy conditions for days on end here. Coming inland just a bit can make a difference depending on the frontal systems.

The video is very shaky because it's really hard to hold the camera
still when the wind is blowing 30 with gusts higher.

Wow, sorry to hear that, st joe was so nice when we were there. We were in s carolina about the same time and spent several days "hiding" from the wind. I suspect just about anywhere north of say Tampa was seeing wind.

We are scheduled to go to Henderson Beach State Park in Florida in June. Hope it will be nicer weather than you guys had. Has any stayed at the park?

That looks perfect if you like rip tides. How does your camper hold up? Awning issues?

Like others have stated...you really have to be below Tampa/Orlando in the winter to enjoy sunshine & warmer temps.

I lived in FL for over 5 years...Tampa to Boynton Beach...loved the winters ( especially Boynton Beach area)!!!!
