Flying objects from double door refrigerator

Hopefully someone can help me with this issue. We just traded up on a new camper with a residential French door refrigerator. When we travel things all slide around and are just waiting for us to open the doors to attack us. Camping world sells the bars to hold things in place but the length is 28" and our fridge is 32". We bought regular extension rods, but they just wouldn't tighten and they also attacked us when we opened it. I'm sure others have solved this so I'm counting on your wisdom. Thanks in advance and happy camping.

Us too.

Still researching the perfect answer.

The strap that came with it, I did not tighten down totally......the first time. Then the heavy items slid against the door and pushed it slightly open regardless of the strap. It was 87 degrees when we stopped and all food ruined.

I then tightened the strap around all 3 handles, the next time, like Tarzan! Hard to do. The door did not open. BUT we also got smart and took all heavy items out of the top and put them in the crisper drawers. They stayed put. The lighter items we put up top.

One guy I read on here got a 1X4 board, covered it in astroturf or carpet and ran it down between the doors. I tried that with a broom handle and that didn't work. The flat 1X4 just MIGHT.

Open to reading about the perfect solution.
