I have a local surveyor dealer literally 10 minutes away from my house. I had bought a TT from them previously too, so they know me. They said that I would have to pay close to 600 dollars for Canadian certification for them to even look at it, and then I would have to pay most of the labour as FR does not pay them enough. For changing the storage door seals I was told that, if I had paid the 600 bucks for certification, I would still be out of pocket aorund 200-250 dollars with the warranty kicking in. I bought the seals and spent an hour and did it myself.

When the slideout started to leak, the other Surveyor dealer said bring it and they would fix it under warranty, and I dropped it this past Saturday. I drove 1 hour 45 minutes, but it will be fixed under warranty.

So, if they want to refuse service they will refuse it, or make it very expensive to have it serviced if you did not buy your unit from them.

I find this approach very disturbing as a customer. It is buyer beware as usual ...

And if they think this is helping their bottom line they are so wrong ...

I have found that the CSA cert is a 600$ sticker and nothing more. My so called CSA stickered Cardinal which I bought 1 yr old here in Ontario has non CSA certified plumbing vents under the sinks. Can't explain what reason dealer required cert for. When I imported my previous trailer brand new from Michigan it did not have CSA sticker and found it did not need one when registering it in Ontario.

Can you say "Money Grab" ? That's all there is to it !

I was told that I should not plug it into any electrical receptacle in any Canadian camp grounds because my insurance and the camp grounds insurance would not cover anything if anything went wrong with electrical stuff because my unit is not CSA certified by the dealer! EXCUSE ME ??? So we can't travel to USA and no one from USA can't come to Canada with our RV's ? Such a you know what ....

I imported one, it passed the federal inspection, I got my RVI sticker and I am all legal. The dealer who services their customer without ripping them off gets to win a customer.

Anyways, We are probably getting off topic

We ordered our Wolf Pack 285wp straight from FR and the one and only time we had warranty work done was because the fuel transfer pump went out. I did find a FR phone number on this forum and called FR and was told that any RV service center should do the warranty work that was needed. All I had to do is give the FR warranty rep's name and phone number to the service center and FR would create a work order for the work to be done.

I already knew who I would be going to for the work and I did mention the dealership's name to the FR rep and she said that there should be no problem at all. But this particular dealership hadn't done any warranty work on any FR in four years, but they said they would do the work. Despite the fact that the 5er sat there for a month waiting for parts, the work was done.

Wow more of the same. I purchased a used Sprinter from someone in GA. Still under warranty. Keystone said I could transfer the warranty and that any dealer could do the warranty repairs. I took it to a local dealer that said they would get to it behind there customers. It sat there for two weeks, nothing happened, it never moved. I had a scheduled trip so I picked it up. They said to call and schedule for an appointment, never got the appointment. I called and called to schedule the work Keystone said they would fix, it never happened now it is out of warranty.
So now I'm in the market for a new trailer because I'm fed up with the one I have. DW and I really like the Rockwood Windjammer 3065 guess who is a stocking dealer, thats right the same one who never did the work on my sprinter.
Now do think they would consider doing warranty on a new Rockwood that I purchase from RV Direct for thousands less. As previously posted they did not warrant even there own sold product.
I do like the workmanship on the Rockwood, has any one had any issues with this unit. Hopefully I never have to have warranty work done. This is a bad situation.
Thanks Dennis
Sorry my first post was cranky
