The article merely stated they failed to follow the required reporting processes, not that there were injuries or deaths.

And look at it this way, cutting back on paperwork saves any company money and that is a savings when you buy their product. Hey, it's money on our pockets, why not.

I for one am willing to give FR the benefit of the doubt. After all, it is a major corporation If the software did not include the necessary program, I believe the steps FR is taking to resolve the problem should mitigate the issue.

As we use to be told by GM, it's the cost of doing business.

InFo Tech people can get a program going in less than a week, I work with I T people all the time. FR should be given no benefit of the doubt. This is a large Corporation that must have a decent I T department. They just wanted to skirt the reporting for what seems to be reasons that make their product look bad, to the point of FR being liable for said, Recalls, Safety issues and Warranty issues.

So all companies are bad because they want to maximize profits for shareholders. Government regulations in general are a PITA to everyone.

Friendly site team reminder as we had to do a little clean up here:

General discussions of politics, general government policies, weaponry, gun rights and religion are not allowed in ANY areas of the forum. Discussions about current or pending legislation or regulations, weapons and religion that directly pertain to RVing are acceptable but will be closed or removed if they wander off topic or become disruptive.

Please keep this topic on the subject of Forest River facing fines. Thank You

Now, back to your regularly scheduled program.

Your jumping to unwarranted conclusions. The only thing I gleaned from the article is FR is being sued for failure to provide Big Brother their required paperwork. Any IT programmer can get a program going in less than a week. Doesn't mean it works the way the user intended.

Agreed but FR has been in business a long time. They know the regs and should have had a system in place to 'Trust but Verify' that protocol was being adhered to. Dumping the problem on software is a catch-all and an easy way for some meathead to wiggle out. In other words get the damn reporting done on time else your azz is out the door.
