Forest River New Owner Package

I think it would be wise for Forest River to provide their dealers with a new owner welcome package to give to a new owner when purchasing their new RV. This would be great marketing and wouldn't cost much. Possibly a shirt, hat, keychain, drink coozie, campsite hanging flag, etc. These could all have the FR. Logo and a small package like this could be put together for $10-$15 at the large scale they would purchase on. We really like Forest River and would like some way to show our loyalty as many Chevy, Ford, Harley, etc like to wear gear from their favorite brands. It's a. Win win for everyone. When I bought my Harley, my wife and I both got Tshirts, key chain, and gift card...and my Harley was 1/10th of what my RV cost!

I'm sure many will say "well they will just build it into the cost of the trailer..." - I say, I'm ok with that, it's $10-15 bucks and I have a cool package to showcase the excitement of my new toy!

What are everyone else's thoughts?

I like it, and also wish they would add and owners manual of some sort. When we did our walkthru the other day the tech said no manuals except for appliances.

I think a hat/shirt, coozie would be great! I didn't even get a pen from the dealer.

Believe it or not, they have gotten better with an online owner's manual within the past year.

Most of the dealers will give you a package of goodies, but it is generally "generic" stuff...a hose, or some tank chemicals. The dealers often represent several brands, so they don't have much brand-specific merchandise.

Join F.R.O.G. and attend some of the rallies. Forest River (through F.R.O.G.) often gives away the exact merchandise you are talking about: hats, mugs, cozies, flags to fly at your camp site. Also, if you visit the FROG shop, you can purchase brand-specific logo clothing.

There is a link on the Forest River FROG web page that will take you to the FROG shop FROG - Forest River Owners Group

I have three Harleys and each has a full set of tools ( required to keep it going ). I would not think of owning another brand. Is it because they are engineering marvels? NO. It is because they have created a culture. They hold annual rallies in almost every state and many foreign countries. Every rally is planned, run and managed entirely by volunteers. They offer annual training for their volunteer officers to teach them how to continue the culture. You can take your Harley to any dealer and they will gladly work on it. I even had a dealer bring the head mechanic in on a Sunday ( they were closed) to do a major motor repair as I was in the middle of a three week trip. I know it will never happen like this with RVs, but just imagine what would become of a manufacturer who adopted a similar style.

I think the vast majority of people on this forum would be happy if Forest River just got it right. Keep the trinkets.

Mike I understand what you're saying and agree most dealers "give" you a starter kit, and I know we could go buy merchandise. I have a few FR accessories. I just think it would be nice for Forest River to start the brand enthusiasm by providing a couple of things for new owners to show off and not have to go out and get it themselves.
