Forester 2691S vs Winnebago 25b

Hello all,

Newbie here. I am in the market for a slightly used smaller (27ft or less) class C for our family (2 kids below 6yrs old).

My wife and I really like floorplans with a couch and a dinette. We narrowed down our choice between a 2013 Forester 2691S and a Winnebago 25B (probably same age and mileage, winnebago should be a little bit cheaper).

A big difference between the two layouts is that the forester has a slideout, while the Winnebago has none. We like the added room of the slide out but I am not too keen on the added weight and the possible mechanical issues.

Other big difference (to my untrained eyes) is that the Winnebago is on a 350, while the Forester is on a 450 chassis. Not sure how much it matters.

Testdriving the two, it seems that the Winnebago was much nicer to drive and felt much "tighter" (less ratling, more responsive)

On the other hand, the forester looks nicer and feel more luxurious, but I am under the (maybe wrong) impression that the quality is a little bit below Winnebago's. (Hope I am not offending anybody here ).

We are leaning towards the forester, as we like the floor plan better, but I would love to have some feedback from what looks like an outstanding community.

If it matters, I am in Southern Cal and we are planning to use it for weekends and vacations.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I understand that this is a Forest river forum so I might get some bias answers but that's ok
