Former camphost take on what is there now...

All I can say is, we'll actually I can't say it here. Lets see if you can get my meaning. Rude, snotty (yes that is a word), obnoxious, and the B word!

They float around here as if THEY own this place. And if you are in anything but a top $$$$$$ class A, then you are not good enough to even get a Hello, How are you, Hope you enjoy your stay. In fact they look at you as if you are the lowest of low life.

In years past this place was near full. Now even the locals don't come as often. This is only my second trip down this year. I know I need to one down one more time. But after that..... This place is history. I can live without the rude hateful attitude.

Have you tried contacting the CG management bypassing the host? Seems like it might be a bit more effective than vaguebooking them here.

When I get home to where I can PM, if you really want to know, then I'll tell. I will say, it is not a Private or State or COE campground.

At our regular summer vacation campground, we had that problem last year. Apparently folks complained to the management and they were replaced. The folks this year were great. BTW, I sent the management company an e-mail commending them.

Geez, crappy folks in a people-oriented job - go figure.
We camped at Virginia's Grayson Highlands SP this past week and our hosts were the opposite. Shoot, they drove an ATV around camp twice a day selling ice and firewood so you didn't have to hoof it to the camp store.

So if you go back one more time and it sucks again. Then will you please tell the rest of us where not to go?

I'm very confused by your vagueness. You're obviously upset and bothered enough to post, but not enough to name names.

We've already figured out that the COE campgrounds are the *best*, but they don't have camp hosts. The one we stayed at in TX had "paid by the hour" folks.

The state CGs we've been to so far have had awesome hosts. Our shakedown trip was to a local CG, and we stayed right across from the hosts. We liked 'em so much we requested the same space when we went the second time.

Only awkward moment was when we invited 'em over for a Gentleman Jack and coke, or three and they informed us they do *not* drink.

They're up bright and early, patrolling the gounds, picking up trash, cleaning out firepits and blowing off site pads. This couple certainly earn their keep. They evencame over and helped us with our Winegard set up.

Oh, and we know which CG they'll relocate to when they leave the current site in October. We'll again request a site near them when we go there in the fall.

I know that sounded odd, let me try to explain. Next month there is going to be the Fall Dulcimer Gathering here. I have so many dear friends that will be here. Honestly if it wasn't for that fact I'd not bother coming back. But I do cherish seeing my dear friends. So for two weeks ill bite my lips in effort to play nice.

As for speaking to the higher ups, that's a joke. Buddy, buddies.
