Smile FR members from north Georgia area

Was wondering if there are any FR members from the north metro Georgia area that live and camp in the Marietta, Canton, Acworth Ga or surrounding area.

There are a few of us... usually I camp at R-Ranch in the Mountains unless we head to Fort Wilderness, Myrtle Beach, or to Hunting Island. Have a few more trips planned but between my youngest son's sports and high school daughter's Varsity cheering, we haven't been as much as we would like the last 2 years.

We live in Cobb. We love camping at River Vista Mountain Village in Dillard, GA. Our favorite by far though is Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach. We will be hitting Disney Fort Wilderness for spring break.

You will love Fort Wilderness. We went back at the end of July and it was a blast. We visited the parks but our next trip there will be spent entirely at the Fort

We live in Gainesville. Towards your way we like Fort Mountain & Cloudland Canyon as far as state parks go. Cloudland is a quick jump to Chattanooga if you wanted a day trip. Plenty of hiking and trails at both of those though to give you something to do. For Corp parks we like Doll Mtn. Have thought about McKinney but haven't gone yet. I think they are open year round. River Vista in Dillard, as someone mentioned, is open year round. Quick jump to Franklin NC for a fun day. Where we are its in close proximity to most of North GA and close to parts of NC & SC. We are getting bitten by the camping bug and ready to go...now if the weather here would just co-operate.

That's great to hear. We are excited and even talked about whether we would go back just to camp. We have built in one day just for the campground on this upcoming trip. We have requested the 800 loop.

Bolding Mill is a Corp park on Lanier and is open all year. Awesome park with great hosts. Cloudland Canyon in Rising Fawn has added new RV sites which are very nice. Moccasin Creek by Lake Burton is tight but right on the lake as is Bolding Mill.
