FR never ceases to amaze me

Got a new 2016 Vibe 286rks, love it but what were they smoking on the assembly line? I just shake my head and wonder why would they put the Satelite Receiver Line In behind the license plate?

And It's great that they give you a access hole to manually open the slide out, but in my case it's 8 inches over to the left of the screw...really? No one noticed?

I do love my new rig though!

Looks like it's below the license plate. What's the problem with it?

Cable outlet is below but satellite is under.
Put a 90 degree fitting on it with a terminator cap. That might make it easier to hook up or cut a half circle in the plate? Agreed.. not much sense to that.
It is a nice looking TT though!

Turn tail light assy & plate 180° and put plate on top or switch the left and right tail light assys. Problem solved. Switching the tail lights is probably what happened at the factory.

That is the cable inlet you see, the satellight inlet is above it behind the plate and there is not enough room to lift the rubber cap with the plate there. I'll be installing a different license plate bracket anyway. I just posted this to show what a dumb place they installed it!

Just switch the tail light assemblies.

Agreed. The license plate is normally on the driver's side.

Obviously it got past their QC inspection.

About a 10 minute job to switch them. My Flagstaff is on the curb side also, but not a problem.

Just a simple question for you people who support the quality of FR products: How can anyone not wonder how the FR factory that produced and released this unit in this condition?

This is so obvious a mistake that almost anyone with a pulse would spot it - especially the so called FR QC people.

This latest thread regarding FR quality (or lack there of) continues to amaze me and some of the people who continue to either ignore it condone it.

Yes I know some will say it's not just a FR problem, but this is a FR forum and deals mostly with FR products.

Sat connection

The factory (assembly line) only places the sat connection behind the lic
plate for those people from MISSOURI. It is a "SHOW ME" state you know!

I will assume your question is pure sarcasm, since the issues identified are so minor and easily remedied. However, I will say I'd rather not see FRF used to call out anyone interested in defending Forest River. In so doing, your post sounds a little troll-ish. Therefore, I'm not sure about your intent, and will merely say that, if you think the sky is not falling based on the OP's issues, then no reply will change your mind.

License plate on left or right makes no difference. Do you think maybe the inspector didn't know about the sat connection? As I said before, my Flagstaff has it on the right.

No Vern - it's not sarcasm, not at all. All the facts (and there are many)reported by various FR owners, some supported with photos, speak for themselves.

And also No - I'm not a troll and I think my record on this great forum speaks for itself.

Change my mind? - be glad to when things change for the better.

I would think a man in your profession would never "assume" anything.

"...maybe the inspector didn't know about the sat connection?" If the inspector doesn't know the build configuration of the unit he/she is inspecting, who should?

Everyone is commenting on the sat connection which doesn't bother me as much as the manual crank hole for the slide being off 8"! Now I need to drill another hole to line it up and plug the old hole. None of which is really a big deal, just wanted to post a couple knucklehead things they did in production. Don't want this to turn ugly!

Could have been that the wrong frame was used, and the hole location is the only difference between another model. I'm also in agreement that the license plate bracket is on the wrong side, and should be on the left. As for OldCoot's being on the right, he probably moved it for some mod he had to do and forgot about he did.

AquaMan, Turbs & B47, you're all wrong, it came from the factory like that. The ladder is on the driver side and no room for the license plate.
