Thanks OP, now I'm going to be more paranoid than normal.

What the Ford guy stated.
as long as you are not mixing the hoses up...
but to make things worse we watched a camper wash out his sewer hose at teh fresh water tap the other day before they left. No bleach to rinse it off either.
Before I could warn the the new couple that pulled in - they had their water already hooked up.
always be prepared for stuff you don't know exists.
have your bleach and wipe your connection to your water supply at both ends before you hook up.

I grabbed a set of the bright orange rubber gloves that fishermen use. They are just large enough that I can put my hands in or take them off without having to touch the outsides.

Neither do I, so obviously we are doing something wrong...I think I'll try pulling the handle BEFORE removing the cap on the black tank. If your elbows are not wet then you're doing it wrong!

I have always felt that some RVers make to big of a deal regarding sewer hoses.
I don't put on rubber gloves when I wipe my behind, I wash my hands after.

It's not only your behind. It's the behind of everyone who has used your toilet since your last tank dump.

Interesting thread...Good advise.
What concerns me more is the water connection on the same post as the 30/50amp elec box...wet ground and 😵

Yeah, and the stuff has had ample opportunity to simmer for a while. I'll continue to use my gloves, thank you.

It's all good! Like most of us have been saying..... do whatever makes sense to you.
We will continue to laugh to ourselves when watching those of you that suit up in gloves, aprons, and galoshes for sewer duty, and you will continue to shake your heads in disgust while watching us use bare hands.
Enjoy and I'll be glad to shake your hand around the campground 😂

Put shaving cream on the gloves and try to remove them without getting any of it on you, had to do this for 1st responder training.

ah but remember when he wipes his behind the key word is "his"
when he unhooks his sewer hose its everybody thats used his toilets for that matter... no pun intended.
I have some great buddies that I would take a bullet for in teh line of duty but I wouldn't want to touch any solids or liquids that come from below their belts.
