Hi All ,
I'm new to the forum but have been camping for many years, We recently purchased a used 2009 Rockwood popup. Of course there are things that needs repaired and maintained. The fresh water tank has busted, Does anyone have any recommendations for a tank replacement. I would like to find one like the factory tank because it fits tight against the flooring and between the metal frame. I have looked at a lot of tank suppliers and can't find anything close to what is from the factory.
Thanks in advance
Chris
have you looked at the overstock on line or brick and mortar RV part stores. I broke one of my framless windows this summer and found a replacement window. they have web sites and sell on ebay.
I'm planning to upgrade our tank because we realized on a recent trip that it is only 23 gallons, not the 33 that is listed on placard. I have plenty of room to mount it but am finding almost every tank has the hose connection like 2 inches from the bottom of the tank because they are on the side of the tank. Does anyone know of a mfg that makes the tanks so you actually get the last drops out instead of having like 4 gallons in the bottom of the tank that you can't actually use?

My PUP is 2014. I called Forest River parts, and I got a quote for $109 for a replacement. I suspect shipping may come close to doubling that, because of the size.
If you want to DIY, I have no doubt you'll save money vs. letting a dealer order the part and install it, and it wouldn't surprise me if you paid a good portion of the shipping even if the order was part of a much larger order of parts by the dealer to Forest River.
My contact at FR - if Kathy's not the right person, I'm sure she can direct you. She handled my lift kit order:

P.S. I plan a DIY install, but mine doesn't leak enough to take the camper out of service until after I winterize it. Mine just has a crack that leaks about 2 gallons a day until the water level falls below the crack.
If your camper is anything like mine, this photo depicts a tank reinforcement that has really worked well for me.
All it is is a 1/2" galvanized pipe, two clevis pins, a 10" square piece of 1/2" scrap plywood, 2 x 1/2" pipe clamps, and a bit of rubber floor mat. The frame already had the hanging tabs with holes that serve as guides for propane plumbing, wiring, etc. I just used two available holes. VERY effective. I hammer the crap out of my camper on washboard gravel roads at least 11 miles one way, and this tortured my fresh tank. I closed the barn door after the horses escaped and made the support AFTER the crack appeared. I know the tank would be fine today if I had installed the support sooner.
See second photo.
