Wish we could take that last spot but sadly our camping days are done for a few years.... well until DD is in college.

I practically had a gun pulled on me to force me into going to my first rally. That was Frogtoberfest in Amana Iowa. I fully expected to hate every minute of it, but I wanted to at least give it a chance.
Turns out it was one of the best weekends of my adult life. At no time did I feel crowded or 'rushed'. We met some new folks that are now life-long friends, and just had a blast.
That opened the floodgates, and if you look at my signature below, you can see how many rallies we have gone to since then. Never NOT had a fantastic time, and I am always left looking forward to the next one.
Give it a shot, you got nothing to lose except a single weekend if you don't care for it.

Go Once you Meet Tim and the PPST you will bust a gut laughing and having fun! Seeing Turbs light the Coleman lanterns without setting fire to awnings is priceless.

We looked at that I would have just canceled and re booked through the frog group but we couldn't get the extra days off of work. I already am taking a half day on Friday and have to work until 12:00 Saturday. So as this way maby we can meet some people at minimum. I didn't get a response from the organizer but we will for sure be on site.

The organizer is FROG Bob (Bob and Cindy Byrne). You can PM him here. His forum name is F.R.O.G. I think he gets flooded with emails.

Thanks to all for the insight and encouragement! It looks like DW has other ideas about how we spend the Memorial Day weekend this year so my thoughts on going to the rally were a bit premature. Note to self, always check with the Master Scheduler before getting excited about something! We'll have to give it a shot another time.

Hey Larry2, The DW and I haven't attended one of these rallys. We are go to CA rally like you mentioned. I was concern about cost. After looking over the flyer. The cost breaks dwn to about $55 a day. You can stay a nice resortfor less than than on a avg. Maybe well see you there.

The ones we have attended have included some meals and interesting classes included in the group site rental price. Not a bad deal if it averages $55/day.

I bought my first trailer in November and just signed up for the Hemet gathering. I don’t really know what to expect but I figured hauling out from Phienix was a good way to find out. Looking forward to meeting some of you.
*Assuming CW is done “fixing” warranty items on my trailer. Called Forest River...funny, their story doesn’t jive with CW’s blame game... at all. Having a sit down with CW tomorrow.

My wife and I went to the Hemet rally last year. I can’t say that it was bad, but it wasn’t our cup of tea. With us both being 50ish, we were the youngsters and felt kind of out of place.

Hmmm. Wondering about that. We’re late 40s with two younger kiddos.

Camping World or not, sometimes dealers will give you a line about fixing warranty items and blame it on the manufacturer.
I don't understand why.... maybe manufacturers are slow or low pay.
I called Forest River concerning any warranty issues I had and to document the issues for time stamping before contacting a dealer for repair.
I got the name, phone number and email of the person at Forest River for the dealer to contact and everyone stayed in the loop.
I verified that the dealer was approved by them to do the work.
Any parts needed were ordered and at the dealer's shop before an appointment was made.
Took the RV to the shop on the morning of the appointment and repairs were done the same day.
Your experience may vary but this worked for me.

Ummmm….you posted to the FROG forum...what would you expect responses to be?
It's simple, if you like being around people when you're camping, you'll like a rally. If not, you won't. We went to the International Rally twice mainly for the free service work. Now that we aren't covered for that, we'll not be going again.

And that my friend is the wrong attitude for going to Goshen rally. Its a shame that is the reason you went. Later RJD
