furnace Question

Hello

Happy Thanksgiving all! We frequently camp in cold weather (below 20 degrees at night). Last winter we discovered that when we turn on the furnace, somehow the Cool Cat also turns itself on and blows in cold air. We are plugged in at an RV park, and are aware that the heat pump does not work below 40 degrees, which is why we are trying to use the furnace.

We are heading into cold weather next weekend and I can not figure out why the heat pump comes on when we turn the furnace on in really cold weather.

The heat pump doesn't come on in warmer weather when we run the furnace. Does anyone here have any ideas?

Thanks!

Change your fan settings on your thermostat. I think you have it set to on Auto switch it to high or low.

Not really sure about your heat pump, our unit only has heat pump on second bedroom A\C which is on a different thermostat than our furnace. Therefore heat pump must be turned on manually and will not come on with furnace.

Set thermostat to Auto.
