Fuse panel

I have a 2008 sandstorm. With two 6. Volt new batteries. When I turn on generator the 30 amp fuse got so hot it melted plastic around it?? Overheating fuse area???? What's causing this?

If the fuse didn't blow, then it's most likely a loose connection that's arcing.

We are talking about fuses and not breakers aren't we? Though the same applies to either situation.
