You are lucky at this price. Here the price overnight went up 5 to 6 cents a liter bringing the price to $ 1.33 a liter . I cannot keep my wallet filled up anymore.

I have...I don"t notice that big of a difference in power or mileage. I only do about 55-60mph on the highway with 5er.

with 5er ( f-150 sup. crew )

reg.= 10.3mpg
E-85= 9.8mph

Yes.. i have pulled with E-85..about 2 mpg less in mileage ....but no loss of power ..in fact..if you look at the 2010 F150 towing guide on-line...the torque and hp acually increases when using E-85 with a 5.4 engine

Remember that E-85 has approximately 70% the heat value of unleaded regular. If regular is selling for $4.00, E-85 must be priced at $2.80 or less to make economic sense. You will notice an approximate 25-30% mileage reduction with E-85 if you start with a full tank (not partially mixed with regular unleaded).

Our local Safeway is up to $4.11 and the Shell is at $4.20. We're less than 5 miles from a Shell refinery! BTW, Washington State has one of the higher state gasoline taxes.

Whatever, it's still a lot less than in the UK. A couple of weeks ago, I saw their £ per liter price and converted to USD and USG to get almost $9/gallon for diesel and about $8.50 for unleaded. The £/Liter has gone up another 12 percent in the last two weeks, but the £/$ has changed a bit the other way. I bet it's over $9/USG for diesel by now.

Gas here was $3.84, it went up to $4.15. a local TV station was doing a film piece on it, while they were filming, it went from $4.15 back down to $3.82. The reporter went inside to ask why, the attendent said he got a phone call to lower it back down. He did not know why. Kind of makes you wonder, you know they would never do anything dishonest, right?

This is a quote from fuelgaugereport.aaa.com
*******************************************
**The BTU-adjusted price of E-85 is the nationwide average price of E-85 adjusted to reflect the lower energy content as expressed in British Thermal Units - and hence miles per gallon - available in a gallon of E-85 as compared to the same volume of conventional gasoline. The BTU-adjusted price calculated by OPIS and AAA is not an actual retail average price paid by consumers. It is calculated and displayed as part of AAA's Fuel Gauge Report because according to the Energy Information Administration E-85 delivers approximately 25 percent fewer BTUs by volume than conventional gasoline. Because "flexible fuel" vehicles can operate on conventional fuel and E-85,the BTU-adjusted price of E-85 is essential to understanding the cost implications of each fuel choice for consumers.
********************************************
On the fuelgauge gas chart today, the current cost of regular is $3.92, E-85 is $3.36, and the E-85 MPG/BTU adjusted price is $4.43. Therefore, you are paying a $0.51/gallon premium for the same amount of energy if buying E-85.

Hey dretired, I see we both live in Michigan. Maybe we'll be at the same campground sometime and we can have a together!
