Yea. I double checked that breaker to insure that wasn't the issue. I even tested it by running the microwave which didn't have any problems.

I really wonder if the generator is just bad. Maybe a internal alternator fault something opens up in a winding under heavy load and when it cools the connection remakes itself. I have seen this on 100w genesis pouring TV transmitters, actually Onan. Never liked them much, had a 4000 watt in a live eye truck that was broken more than running.

Just thought I'd update everyone. On another camp out, but this time on shore power. Turn on the AC, and as soon as the compress kicks on, it trips the breaker. I'm now convinced it is a AC problem and not a generator problem.

The AC breaker or the main breaker?

Sorry for the late chime in, but when you said the microwave worked on Genny power, I was thinking it was more likely the AC had a problem. It good you figured it out now. At least they can give you the camper back once they diagnose the issue and let you use it until they are ready to do the repair. I know the local PUMA/Forest River dealer here has a 3 month back log on customer warranty repairs, and closer to 6 months on non-customer repair work...

Sounds like the A/C compressor is locked up causing lock rotor amps to trip breaker or generator motor off from high LR amps. Compressor could just have a bad run capacitor or faulty contactor or worse case a locked up A/C compressor. Collect on A/C warranty, it doesn't sound like a genny issue.

Turns out it was a bad compressor, they submitted the paperwork to Forest River to approve a warranty repair.
