A tough choice. I have a pair of Honda's but I usually only take one with me cause if I need ac I look for a park.

Have heard some good reviews of the champions - bad news is lack of local service if something goes bad.

Here's the website for a direct seller and only refurbished place:

http://www.supergenproducts.com/cata...ter-generators

You can get a 3100 w/wireless start for 1k or pair of refurbished 2k units for 4000 total with covers and parallel kit for 869.

Honda's you can always sell for 80% of what you paid at drop of a hat.

Tough choice.

+1 for Champion. I bought 2 2k to run parallel. One arrived DOA and Champion customer support had me replaced in three days. They have local support with two major facilities, one on each coast.

The yamaha is over twice the weight. 70lbs to 147lbs. Thats a lot of extra weight to lug around as well. Must be a heavy inverter! LOL

Thanks
Have it and love it. It's quiet. We set ours up within 5 feet of our trailer and once inside, you can barely hear it. If you are talking, you cannot hear it.

At a campground we recently stayed at, the person 5 sites away was running their Honda and we were running our Champion (nobody else was at the campground). You could hear both units from the other person's camp area- slightly. Ours was slightly louder BUT, we were running two space heaters. The other dude was only trying to charge his battery.

We have the 3100 model and it weighs about 80 pounds. Not exactly light but I am able to lift it by myself if necessary. Hubby does most of the moving it around but I have done it in a pinch.

Love my Champion 3100. It's VERY close to being as quiet as the Honda and Yamaha at a MUCH better price.

However, my Boliy which has an easy 1000 hours of use on it over the past 4-5 years cost me $800-$1200 less than your Yamaha.

The money I saved allowed me to buy other goodies for the camper. BTW, your Yamaha is rated for 2800 continuous watts and my Boliy is rated for 3000 continuous watts.

I'm not a dealer or have any financial interest in Boliy. I'm just a very satisfied customer that likes sharing positive reviews with others.

Wow, never heard of Boliy so thought i'd reseach "review on boyiy generators" Many say their junk. Interesting!

I saw similar reviews about the Boliy before I bought my Champion. I also have had a Honda. It was a good generator for 5 years and then it wore out. So far 4 years on the Champion and it's still going strong.
