Generators

I'm looking at generators. I've seen and heard the Honda EU2000i in action and it's very quiet, which I like. Has anyone ever used the Champion 3100 Inverter? I'm wondering how quiet it is, compared to the Honda.
Thanks

It's not as quiet but close to it.
IMHO, the Champion 3100 is a winner.
I own a Honda 2000w but if I'd ever need something bigger, I'd sell my Honda and buy the 3100.

Probably can do a site search and find a lot of opinions. When looking at decibel specs, the distance from the generator for the stated db makes a huge difference.

I own a Champion 3100 inverter generator. I had a Honda, I fully endorse the Champion.

I'm very happy with our Champion 3100. I find it to be quiet, and always starts 1 pull.

Another option would be two 2000 watt Champions and a parallel kit. You could use just one to run basic stuff like the microwave etc. Then hook the two together whenever you want to use the AC. The Champ 3100 is 58db and the Champ 2000 is 53 db.

My Champion 3100 inverter generator handles our motorhome air conditioner just fine.

I prefer the Boliy over Champion because it has a higher rated and continuous power rating. The Boliy is rated for 3000 watts continuous and the Champion is rated for 2800 watts continuous.

I"m not disputing that Honda and Yamaha generators are great; they are!

However, my Boliy which has an easy 1000 hours of use on it over the past 4-5 years cost me $800-$1200 less than your Yamaha.

The money I saved allowed me to buy other goodies for the camper. BTW, your Yamaha is rated for 2800 continuous watts and my Boliy is rated for 3000 continuous watts.

I'm not a dealer or have any financial interest in Boliy. I'm just a very satisfied customer that likes sharing positive reviews with others.

Hint: The Boliy is a clone of the Yamaha except it has a German designed inverter that is a wee bit more efficient resulting in an extra 200 watts capacity.

If I were in your shoes, I'd rebuild that Yamaha engine when it gets tired instead of investing in a new generator.

I also have the Yamaha ef3000iseb and its rock solid. Great piece but it is a bit heavy. Like the large gas tank too.

+1 for the Champion 3100.

If you read this thread:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...tor-86453.html

You'll find some useful info, including my early trials with a bad carb, what Champion did to make it right, and my buddy and I installing a set of off-road tires on it. It's a good read if you're considering the 3100. I'd buy it again.
