glass or plastic dinnerware?

Looking for recommendations for dinnerware, glass or plastic? What kind of dishes are you stocking your rv with? Do you have any problems with glass plates breaking while traveling? If you use glass plates and bowls, how do you store them in the cabinet to keep them from breaking?

Paper or plastic. Plastic for steaks, paper for just about everything else. Tervis and Solo for drinks.

Corelle plates, bowls, and coffee mugs. Plastic cups. Regular SS cutlery nothing fancy. Our cupboard where we store the Corelle and cups is lined with non-slip shelf liner we bought in an extra large roll at Costco.

Usually Corelle dishes , plastic glasses, flatware. but sometimes paper plates and plastics ware. I like eating off of regular plates better so Corelle is the right choice for me. If I had a family then likely would be using paper items as much as possible.

Did have one Corelle bowl break into pieces after falling out of the cabinet while traveling. The dealership had lifted the trailer up high when moving it out of the bay and I didn't think to check before leaving.

Same here. Corelle, plastic glasses, Frog Mugs, regular stainless flatware utensils. Only a occasional aluminum pan for the campfire cooking.

Environmentally Friendly, recycle everything we can. Our Provincial Parks all have full recycling facilities, paper, glass, plastic, cans, newsprint and Orange Drop for propane cylinders.

We do use glass bowls for microwave and keep a couple microwaveable plates in addition to typical paper and plastic. Our plates are stored in rack vertically in cabinet and travels great.

Corell plates & bowls each separated with a disk of the anti slip mat circles. Regular glass drinking glasses sat on the anti slip mat and normal coffee cups on the same stuff. We also carry a couple of stainless steel travel cups that are virtually indestructible and for our personal use. Regular SS flatware. Serving dishes are the same corral. Never had anything break in eight years.

Glass coffee mugs and heavy glass plates..........never broke one at all.

Chinette plates. From Sam's.
Heavy plastic glasses, a few solo cups.
metal induction-capable skillets....for the Nuwave.
heavy tupperware-type stuff for microwave.

We spend a lot of time in our rv, so we have minimal paper and plastic but do use it when eating sandwiches/non messy foods outdoors. DH found some very thin plastic plates on closeout once and we use those most times. We have a great set of melamine that we like to use when eating steaks or anything requiring use of a knife but they aren't microwave safe. So I will be adding a few Corelle plates...part of a set we got as a wedding gift almost 47 years ago. Very versatile and durable. BUT if they ever do break, they break into millions of VERY sharp shards that can be hazardous to clean up. We also have plastic glasses mostly, a few regular coffee cups and I do have four glass wine glasses cos sometimes wine just tastes better out of glass than out of plastic. LOL. Just wrap the wine glasses in a kitchen towel and put in the sink when traveling.

We use an old set of Corell dishes and bowls. I put shelf liner in the bottom of the shelves and then use the cushy shelf liner between each plate and bowl. I have some glass casserole or 8x8 inch pans that I layer shelf paper between. A beautiful set of five melamine serving bowls of salad size down to small mixing bowl size with plastic lids I got at SAMs Club last year for mixing and serving food. Tervis cups and ceramic mugs. I also wrap each mug with shelf liner. I've not had any breakage issues.

Corelle, nonskid shelf liner. But, we use paper plates when we don't have full hookup. We also have a no-glass rule (beer bottles are the exception).

Corelle dishes nothing between them nothing broken. Do also use paper plates at times.

We did find some stainless steel long stem wine glasses at a CG store a few years ago.
