I don't think that you will need AC near Mt Rushmore or Yellowstone.

117degrees for Death Valley maybe, but nowhere close to that elsewhere. Yellowstone is alot farther north and not that hot.( I'm a life long west USA'er.)

We just returned from a 5 week trip out to the Grand Canyon and all 5 of the National Parks in Utah. We did not have to worry about our a/c but heat, as we had several snow storms. It was a great trip and southern Utah is beautiful. we went early to avoid the crowds. We were at Zion NP on Mothers day and could not even find a parking spot in the park, but we found an RV park just outside the park and were able to ride the shuttle buses.

117º anywhere in CA or AZ is unheard of the 1st week of June. Don't think the OP was planning his trip there this week
