Goal Zero Solar Systems

I was at Costco yesterday and they had Goal Zero solar systems. Is anyone familiar with these and how effective they are?

Not sure what system they have but I have one I got off Amazon (check the reviews there). Mine works great and it's very well made.

If you are refering to the Sherpa 50 for $329, it is way overpriced and useless for charging anything more than a laptop. It only has a 13 watt solar panel.

Thanks boondocking. The guy told me that Sherpa 50 would be all I need for Cpap machine. That is why I like to ask others. Research is key. Do you know anything about the Yeti 150 solar generator?

I took a look at the Yeti 150, that one would not work for your Cpap. It has a 14ah battery of which you would only have 7 amp hours of useable power. I think the average draw for the Cpap is around 3 amps @ 12 vdc. That would drain that battery in a matter of about 3 hours. The Yeti 400 would not work either, it has a 33ah (16 useable amp hours) battery.

You would be best off to get the 100watt folding solar panels c/w charge control from Ebay for under $200 dollars

I had the yeti 1250 until going with a full fledged solar set up in my TH this spring. My 1250 did a great job for us but the two 15 watt panels that I got with it would not fully charge it after using it at night to run a small fan and then make coffee in the morning. I always had to bring the charge up by running the gen in the mornings and evenings.
