I live on Table Rock Lake so we're considered "locals". You've gotten 2 good recommendations if you enjoy camping by the water; Lakeside RV
has a great location to the Branson Landing and the downtown area. It is a bit sparse as trees go, but Taneycomo is beautiful in the morning fog and boasts some great trout fishing. Table Rock State Park
is more wooded camping experience on Table Rock Lake. It's a quick 10 minute drive to the Branson strip and Silver Dollar City. There are also a number of great Army Corps campgrounds on Table Rock Lake, but they would be a 20 - 30 minute drive to the Branson attractions. As mentioned there is also some camping available near Silver Dollar City The Wilderness
is owned by Silver Dollar City or Compton Ridge Campground
Really depends on what kind of camping/vacation experience you're after. As mentioned, lots of things to do and see here. We're not really Branson show people, but some mentioned are very good. You might also visit the Army Corps Dewey Short Visitors Center at Table Rock Dam, and the Missouri Department of Conservation Shepard of the Hills Fish Hatchery, both are interesting to tour and they are free.
