Hi planning on making the trip to Branson from Ontario Canada was wondering what are the best camp sites to stay and do you have to boke ahead for shows at this time of year . What are some of the other attractions to see there. Thanks Keith

Hi. We just returned from our Branson vacation. The last two trips we stayed at Silver Dollar City Wilderness campground. They had reasonable rates, cable TV, WiFi, Full hook ups. We have also stayed at Compton Ridge which is across the highway from the Wilderness campground. There are several campgrounds in the area.
Get reservations for your camp site.
We did the dinner cruise on the Branson Belle. It was very nice. There's plenty to
do in Branson. You will not be bored !

We have stayed at Cooper Creek Resort...check it out at:
coopercreekresort.com
You will need to have your own vehicle to get into town and attractions.
If you go early the mornings the day you want to see a show you can get good tickets.
There is so much you can do in the area.
Enjoy!

I live in Branson. Campground depends on if you you to be close to town...or more out in a more wooded scenic area.
I like the lakeside Rv on Lake Taneycomo. You can walk to Branson Landing and I think they have a shuttle. Br landing has great places to eat, pubs, shopping and at times entertainment.
Branson definitely requires a vehicle to get out and about.
Have fun...it is a beautiful place. Lived here 25 years. Made my first visit in 1986...said to self...I'm gonna live here one day.!

Love camping on the lake just outside of Branson. Enjoyed the riverboat dinner ride, Dolly Parton Stampede, and all the family time events! Will go again within the next year!

Table Rock State Park has nice spots, providing you don't mind a 15 minute drive into town.

I live on Table Rock Lake so we're considered "locals". You've gotten 2 good recommendations if you enjoy camping by the water; Lakeside RV has a great location to the Branson Landing and the downtown area. It is a bit sparse as trees go, but Taneycomo is beautiful in the morning fog and boasts some great trout fishing. Table Rock State Park is more wooded camping experience on Table Rock Lake. It's a quick 10 minute drive to the Branson strip and Silver Dollar City. There are also a number of great Army Corps campgrounds on Table Rock Lake, but they would be a 20 - 30 minute drive to the Branson attractions. As mentioned there is also some camping available near Silver Dollar City The Wilderness is owned by Silver Dollar City or Compton Ridge Campground Really depends on what kind of camping/vacation experience you're after. As mentioned, lots of things to do and see here. We're not really Branson show people, but some mentioned are very good. You might also visit the Army Corps Dewey Short Visitors Center at Table Rock Dam, and the Missouri Department of Conservation Shepard of the Hills Fish Hatchery, both are interesting to tour and they are free.

I'd recommend getting on the Branson Website and have the guide mailed out. That has everything you'd ever want to know about Branson.

Great camping, but close to the action of Branson.
Table Rock State Park | Missouri State Parks
The map says 6 miles to Brasnson, that is the 'city limits' sign, there is 'stuff' to do all around there.

All of those parks look HUGE! Sneak and I are considering a Branson trip, but I'll be searching for something smaller....and something "off the beaten path" is our preference. Nope, we do NOT mind a drive back to all the action. But we prefer to glamp where there's less action.

Weezer, you might want to try Ozark Country Campground. It's a little goofy getting into (goes through a neighborhood...but don't let that scare you off), but the park itself is very nice, and when we were there in 2010, they accepted Passport America (and looks like they still do). Half price. Every day, including weekends and holidays. Full hook-ups. It's actually just down the road from the State Park, and the drive into Branson is not bad at all.
We also did the the Branson Belle, it is well worth the cost. The dinner cruise is what we did. Fantastic show with your meal. They also have a great Butterfly Palace. Very cool place. And Branson Landing is pretty neat. You will like you trip there.
Here is the link to Ozark Country Campground. The pictures on there are pretty much what it is. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.

There are a couple of great Corp of Engineer parks on Table Rock Lake and it gets you out of the rat race of Branson if you want some peace and quiet. Close enough to drive into town. Mill Creek and Old Highway 86 are the two parks we have stayed at and enjoyed them both. I know Mill Creek fills up but you are after prime season so you may be okay, at least through the week. Use Reserve America website to book your reservations.

We are going to Branson and staying on Indian Point at the Corp of Engineers CG. Table Rock SP is also a very nice place.
