Good response from FR
I have a small water leak coming in around the roof AC. Knowing we live out in the middle of no where with no FR dealers I wondered what FR's response would be. Talked with Greg in the warranty dept. today about this issue - I can use a local independent RV repair facility for the repair. OF COURSE THEY HAVE TO CALL FR BEFORE MAKING ANY REPAIRS.
For a followup on me loosing the flapper out of the range vent - Greg is shipping me a new vent!
Now that I have these two issues, what more could I ask for in dealing with them?

That is excellent customer service ! I am hoping to hear from FR hopefully today on how they will handle the extensive leak of my trailer. I hope they will confirm that my request was acceptable. Fingers and toes crossed !
From what I read/hear, there are some horror stories but a lot of positive experiences in directly dealing with FR is out there too.

Goomph: What kind of leaks do you have in your minilite. I can tell you that I found and fixed 2 quite bad ones . The water from the rain was running inside the under menbrane. One was coming from the baggage door because of a lack of caulking and the water seeping inside the screws. The other one was at the rear also because the water was going inside the menbrane. Under this plastic menbrane you can see several holes left by the screws and specially on each corners under. I filled these holes with putty tape and it looks that the leaks are gone.

Capucine, I do not have a minilite, I have a surveyor SV-291. It leaks from the slide area. I was trying to have it returned to factory for repairs, but in its wisdom FR referred me to the dealership who could not fix it in the first place. I will be taking it to another dealership and see where this goes.

I also was afraid of water leakages from the silde because of others rvers reporting leakages. This is why we ordered our new trailer with a awning over the slide. We have not seen any leaks in this are because the awning protect completly from water leakage . I am including a picture with this tread

Good response from FR update
Both the tech I spoke with & Greg told me to check to see if the bolts holding the AC down were tight. When I checked them all four were only finger tight. I tightened them so hope that fixes my water leak - if not will take it to the repair place.

Emptypockets: our new 1809s is going back to the factory for damages caused by a water leak inside the wall behind the door. It has caused quite a lot of damages. A new wall or a new replacement I hope will come back to us in a few month or more. What a pain on a brand new trailer that we used only a week end.

capucine, That is terrible trust they will do a good job for you & get it back to you by spring. Will they do anything about the poor finish work on the interior where the staples look so awful?

Capucine, is your dealer "Travel Mor" helping you with this repair and made arrangements with Forest River for pick up?

empty pocket: I replaced all the flat mouldings all over the trailer and yes there is no staples at all on these moulding. It looks so good now and I even installed some under the cabinets to cover the gaps. It took me one hour to do the work and what a difference. I also installed a moulding between the tub enclosure and the sink cabinet that I sent you the picture. My next project is to install a small valance over the venitian blind in the kithen over the sink. The valance fabric will match the other valances on the curtains. Later on if I have the money to spare I will install the optional mag wheels on it. I like the good look on this trailer and I can make it even better.

Glad to here someone has had good luck With Greg at FR. I have called several times and emailed twice with pictures to Greg and i have not heard a word from him or anyone else at FR.
It seems if the AC unit was not bolted in properly and he knew about it,there is a quality control issue there.
I'm new here as well. How did you notice the leaks. Staining, puddles???

There was a small amount of water on the floor directly under the AC unit. Thankfully the flooring is not carpet!

Thanks. My thoughts exactly. I have some pictures to upload to show my concerns about the seam between the roof and front/rear panel joint . I'll try to get that up later today.
