Thanks, I haven't even taken possession of my new unit yet and I itching even more now.
And great video. It would have taken me at least and hour to do what you did In ten minutes. .

I often wondered who would be silly enough to buy a Domani fifth wheel. Now I know, a GMC owner.

I'd have to have the fever *really* bad to pay 47k for a 2008 model of that fifth wheel.

"yuppie bait" and all that white leather definitely isn't "Fid" friendly, or kid friendly for that matter.

Friends of ours own a Blue Bird tour bus style motor home...with *WHITE* carpet. Newp, we've never camped with 'em...how'd ya guess?

The reason we fell so hard for our new 5er is that the interior of it just says "home" to us. Lots of light (large rear window cinched it for me re light), very wide with the opposing slides, ceiling fan, much more comfy sofa/love seat...it just speaks comfort. The hickory wood finish also adds lots of light vs. the cherry wood in the V-Lite.

Oops, forgot the link;

Ok, let's go easy on the GMC commentary, ha. I had to type that because I don't feel like yelling over your extremely loud ford.
That did look like a pretty sleek 5th wheel, and now I know why something of the likes never showed up during my searches. That's ALOT of money for an '08.

I've never encountered that brand, on the highway or here at home. The angled edges on it remind me of that guess-what-I-am brand station wagon in those "vacation" movies.

Domani only had a couple of floorplans and it was only produced for one year, 2008. When Carriage went out of business, 2011 I think, they still had a brand new 2008 Domani on their lot. The units were only 30 feet long with two slideouts and an asking price of $80,000.

Holy cripes! If it took me all that to go camping, I probably never would. 3 trips with his little wagon just to carry crap out to the trailer. For just 2 people? Sheesh!

Two final thoughts... I just wonder why why why does someone with a 5th wheel put a hard-top tonneau cover on their truck? And I guess it takes a special kind of anal-compulsion to make sure you put on your hitch lock before even running the slides out...(8:23)

Looks like he got it down to a science. Here in the frigid North East, I have to de-winterize prior to going anywhere.

I was kinda questioning bringing the trailer all the way out and around thrn loading it up. Why not bring it up beside the house or just infront of the garage and then load it up from there. Would at least be a shorter distance for the wagon runs.

Somebody else had to be filming some of those drive down the road scenes. So maybe dad, wife and daughter?

Still, seeing how nice that pulled makes me want to look into a fiver. Course that would mean a new truck too.....

This video speaks pretty well true to my setup and experience. As I've said before, we take way too much stuff. From what I saw - 1 load was groceries, one was beach gear (boogie boards, mats, umbrella, etc.) and the third was random stuff. When we go to our beach trips, we definitely pack more because of the extra element of going to the beach. You can see our chairs and possibly do "where's Waldo" to find the cart and a boogie board:

Good video. I just wish I could move that fast!

I am amazed your breakaway cable hasn't caught on some of that gear during a turn causing the trailer brakes to lock up. I had that happen my first year with a fifth wheel so now I store very little in the bed from the hitch to the tailgate.

I usually do NOT roll with that much stuff back there. It's usually just a piece or two of wood for under the landing gear.

I watched for it and have thought of your experience (I do actually recall saying its happened to you before). I hook my break away cable back to the corner tie-down beside of the tailgate. Not sure if that helps or matters - my dealer strongly recommended against hooking the breakaway cable to the hitch, so I don't.
