My V-10 X started to get that kind of mileage, then I switched to 93 octane and it went back up to 7.5mpg. When they started messing with the ethanol in the gas it killed mileage and power! I filled up in Wisconsin back then with pure gas and it was unbelievable how much more power I had and my mileage was back up in the upper 7's. I now average 7.8mpg with an air deflector on my roof and the 5 star tuner.

But good for you on the new TV. When the time comes if we don't by a class A gas or diesel I will probably go to a Ram Mega Cab with a Cummins!

I've already got paid back.. We've travel 1000's of miles of the country and done / seen amazing things. That is payback enough for me.

Shop around, I would post a picture of the asking price on my new 2015 RAM 3500 DRW diesel, if I knew how . But most folks wouldn't want my truck but for the price I love it. Pretty much what I wanted.

Why not? If someone can put a fiver hitch on a Beetle, why not a Vette. You have to admit, it would have the pulling power!

You will not regret going diesel, no matter what brand you buy. I went with a 2014 RAM 3500 (slightly used), when I started looking I wasn't sure what brand I was going to buy until I found the one I wanted. I pull a 34 foot wildcat and love it, I get 12 to 13 Mpg, mountains no problem (up or down), I have the EB. Best decision I have made when it comes to vehicles.

Forgot to mention my mileage was 11.6 coming home on the same roads, I will make my money back easily with diesel prices being down again and the overall mileage increase I get even unloaded, but not why I bought it, bought it for the power and comfort. Way nicer truck than what I need but I love it and it is the first vehicle I bought that I did not have buyers remorse.

Instead of trying to find a hitch so you can tow something with the vette, why don't you just make it a 4 on the floor TOAD?

What payback period are you talking about? The diesel is more expensive initially, but you get most of that back when you trade it or sell it. When mileage goes up 50% the maintenance cost is a wash.

Yes. Welcome to diesel. We are an old (2004) 6.0 and it's a bit loud but after renting a class C new Ford V10 with gross below our CGVW all I can say about gas is. GUTLESS
