Our last camping trip with our 2016 Chevy 2500 HD diesel we got 12.6 mpg. Last trip we had 14.3 mpg. I dont know why I dropped but its still much better than the 7 mpg we got with the 1500 Ram.

This last trip 8200 miles and 12mpg, I just keep the tank full. The best fuel mileage I ever got was with a 1500 Silverado pulling a 5,000 lb travel trailer, 12.5 mpg. I have never beat that with the diesels, now that was just flat land towing, no mountains. Maybe I drive to fast, anyway I just keep the tank full and plan the next trip

We went from a Titan towing 6,000 lbs at 7.5 mpg to a 2013 Silverado 2500 HD D/A towing 10,000 lbs at 12-13 mpg.
Just made a 691 mile round trip to Atlanta and back with no TT and averaged 20.1 per the odometer and pump. Once we get over 70mph, it starts going down fast. Average 18 mpg at 80 mph.

Sounds like you had the Cummins diesel. The RAM 1500's EcoDiesel is less than half the size of the Cummins and is designed for fuel economy. Of course it doesn't have the same power as a Cummins but it has more torque than the 5.7 Hemi and delivers terrific fuel economy.

I had a 2008 2500 Silverado diesel, I have now a 2012 3500 Silverado diesel. The best I have ever got is 12.2. I brought both trucks new. I have 82,000 miles on the 3500

Spock, I'm guessing you're towing heavier stuff each time...........
I'd take 12.5.............. I hit about 11 or so.

Oh yes. I have got to quit buying bigger campers. Started out at 5500 and now about 13,000.
