Got tired of the fuel mileage

Early June we went camping at Lake of the Ozarks. We had a great time but only managed to average about 5.6MPG pulling out there. That number has been decreasing the further west we go and the more we leave flat country. I happened to be messing on the ipad and came across a deal on a new TV I could not pass up. so I am not the proud new owner of a 2015 Silverado 2500 Diesel.

Will the payback period take long (gas v. diesel)?

X2! I buy vehicles because I want that vehicle, plain and simple.
Thats the same reason some people buy Corvettes instead of Chevettes!

X2. I sometimes think my 3500 is a Corvette the way I get off the line. It's like the extra fuel tank in truck, there is no way I'll ever make that money back. But I sure do like my 3500 diesel Silverado

Diesel trucks

The one thing I can tell you is to tread them off before the factory warranty is up. Diesel trucks can be very costly to repair. I do agree with they are good pullers.

iv'e got an 03 3500 ram with the 5.9 cummins, i could not imagine towing a 34ft cedar creek 5ver with a gasser. the thing would be screaming.

as far as repairs well like anything else mechanical preventative maintenance.
goes along way.

and it sure helps being a heavy equipment tech

Nope...I drive a Corvette . But I can relate...someone asked me what my gas mileage was (I'm not stock). I couldn't tell them. Never checked. That's not why I bought it, lol.

The day I brought it home...also happened to be the day I found out they didn't make fifth wheel hitches for it, lol.

Making memories, that's what it's all about. I love my Silverado, I love camping. I don't worry to much. My Silverado sure does pull my camper great, probably won't ever get back what I paid for camper and truck.
