GPS in dash question
To use the in-dash GPS, do you have to subscribe to a fee-paid monthly service? I am trying to decide whether to add that option to a new RV.

There are no fees for the in-dash GPS in our Berkshire, or in any other Forest River product of which I'm aware.

The ONLY fees that may be incurred when it comes time to update the maps.

No, there are no fees for an in-dash GPS, unless it includes a weather service, or a traffic service which is usually a part of Satellite radio subscriptions, or as mentioned earlier, if you purchase an updated map.

I have an indash GPS on my Ram. There are no fees, but it's $175 for the map update. It's ridiculous. I can buy a new GPS for less than the update. Personally, I'd get a stand alone, as technology changes quickly, and is becoming cheaper.

I just updated the GPS map in my Georgetown, it was $59.00. Did the same for my F150 and my DW's Acura for $99.00 each.

I hate the nav unit in my Ram. The screen is too busy, not intuitive, and it's located low enough that I have to take my eyes far from the road even to read it. So, I mounted my trusty Garmin on the top of the center console at dashboard level and use it exclusively. I should have saved money by foregoing the Ram unit.

GPS
The GPS in my Sunseeker motorhome is almost useless. It points strait out of the dash and from the drivers seat you have to lean way to the right just to see the screen. Hand held ones are much better.

Additional GPS question
We have used the in dash GPS in our 2015 Sunseeker, and all seems well except we have not yet figured out how to turn off the GPS voice when we are done with that particular trip. The voice continues to say things like "the speed limit is xx" if it knows or thinks we are exceeding the posted speed limit. It does this if we are listening to the radio and not using the GPS. If you know how to turn off the GPS please help. Thanks.

In dash GPS
We have an in dash Magnadyne M4 in our Sunseeker motorhome. It has many features such as surround sound, dvd's, mp3's, ipod hook up, monitors for backup and side view camera etc. It comes as part of a package which most dealers order. We also bought a rand McNally GPS for RV's which has free updates. Happy camping

We did about the same. We have a 2014 Sunseeker that was delivered in July 2013 with the Magnadyne and Entertainment Center option (versus the over the cab bedding). We have not updated the maps nor replaced the unit as it does so many things as stated above. Instead, we bought a Garmin Unit for about $150 that:
- Bright 4.3" dual-orientation display
- Detailed maps of North America, with free lifetime map updates
- Free lifetime traffic
- Voice-activated navigation and Bluetooth compatible
- Garmin Real Directions™ with Garmin Real Voice™
- Active Lane Guidance with voice prompts
- photoReal and Bird’s Eye junction views
- Compatible with iPhone® and Android™ Smartphone Link
