Had some time I did not need to waste (rant)
But I did
After reading at another site I am really questioning if my truck is powerfull enough to haul me safely to the store.
HMMMM I get so sick of some of the other site my truck is better than your truck threads.
Maybe I should not go back there.
These tow police would kaka there pants if they seen my fathers first rig.
It was a custom built cabover on a 1969 Ranchero GT with a 302 and no doubt the camper was heavy. But we traveled the country and survived.
Got to find pics of that setup it was so cool!
Dont get me worng I am not approving an unsafe set up but gees will my truck haul me?
I guess I need a 5500 to haul the grocerys home safely
Ok my rant is over

I'm thinking of mounting a 5'er hitch to my Road King and towing with it. I think my truck is waaaaaaay to powerful for my use.

I believe that with the dual wheel upgrade, the super-chip, custom exhaust, spoilers and the JATO rocket packs, my new F-150 5.4L will tow my daughters Radio Flyer wagon across reasonably level terrian without a great deal of problem. Provided of course, the WD and sway control are set up right.

Radio I hope you have the proper tire pressure when you haul your daughter's wagon.

hey man SLOW down!!!!
What load range tires on that F150?
And are the windows tinted or not?
If you have load range ZZZZ and the wrong tint on the windows you may be in trouble!

Those kind of threads do get tiresome. Considering RV pride, I'm a bit surprised and pleased we don't see much of it.

We don't stand for that 'round these parts. We may sit down a bit but we will not stand for it.
Hey Radio,
Does that rig have the dual over-head sun visors and high-compression floor mats? If not they would be a great upgrade.

Someone's been hangin' out over on ''The Dark Side'' again!
What strikes me funny...and this is true on most RV forums...
Most people get along fine when talking RV's...but when it comes to Trucks and towing ... everyone has very strong opinions...and sometimes they try to jam it down your throat.

I doint want to poop on your parade, but that lil dodge of yours should be considered a road hazard if you read deep enough in the tow/weight police manuals
you might just be better off selling it and get a class 8 truck to get groceries
we have been very careful as of late driving our dually, we have been so cocnerned with the weight police, that is both my wife and i are in the truck, we only run a 1/4 tank of fuel and no cargo so i can safely go to the store.
good thing they didnt see us at 24040 lbs last oct
thanks for the laugh this morning

I guess my 1/2 ton truck and the camper at 3600 lbs is not a good idea? Ha ha.
I understand safety and don't want joe blow causing an accident because he is overloaded but I have to agree with you guys. There are too many "experts" who chime in with their idea of the perfect setup.

Radio, it's not moving the radio flyer, it's STOPPING the thing for cryin' out loud. If these people could have seen the crap my dad and I moved from one hay field to another it would have caused some coronaries. I remember pulling a baler, rake, tether, and hay wagon with a ford currier(mazda) all in a row down thru what is now sub divisions in Apopka. Or putting 250 square bales on a 20 foot trailer, and not even knowing they made trailers with brakes( I'm sure my dad knew). I think most truck manufacturers have down graded their trucks to limit their liability, and to sell larger trucks.
