Haloview Signal

I purchased the Haloview 7180 to use for rear view but most of the time the signal severely lags and freezes up when moving. The camera is 43' from the monitor, any suggestions?

email Haloview, they have good customer support. You may need an extender antenna.

I have the same problem on my new 7108. Works fine in my driveway or around the hood but when I hit the streets in starts to freeze and lags behind. I just emailed support but of course they are in China so it may be a while before I hear back. Will update if and when I hear back.

Do you have any pix of how your monitor is mounted? I set mine up on the dash with a bean bag type holder.

I had the same issue with the 7180. When I talked to Haloview (via email), the recommended I use the Range Dominator model. They said 7180 lacks performance above 40 ft. They provided me with the updated equipment (less monitor) for a significantly reduced price. The net was less than their regular price for the 7180. I had bought the 7180 on Cyber Monday sale.

My camera's antenna and the monitor's antenna are under 40-ft away from each other on my rig. However, I did notice sensitivity to both antennas' orientation.

At first, I had the camera antenna pointing straight up and the monitor antenna folded across the top of the unit. Reception was poor. After much experimentation, I found the best reception was achieved with the camera antenna positioned at about a 45º angle leaning away from the back of the trailer with the best monitor reception achieved with its antenna positioned straight up.

As NJKris said, Haloview support via email is surprisingly good! I had several questions that they answered via email within days.

Heard back from support. They sold me the Haloview TX-B2 2.4G Signal Booster for MC7108 MC5111 normally $39.98 and gave me a coupon for $39.95 so it is costing only .40 cents with prime shipping. Great service from them so far.

When you hit the streets, you are probably subject to much more signal interference than you are in your driveway.

Good deal, Mike223! Hopefully joeobx will see this and do the same.

Let us know the outcome.

My trailer is 43' long and I have a headache rack behind the cab. The signal strength was 4 bars until I hit the road where it dropped off. I ran a low loss coax cable from the camera on the back of the trailer and attached the antenna on the opposite end of the cable on the front of the roof, cheap fix. Reception is excellent, no flickering, crystal clear picture. I installed two more cameras, one as dashcam and one on the headache rack for backing up to the trailer.

Got the Haloview TX-B2 2.4G Signal Booster for MC7108 MC5111 today but no instructions?? Looks like you would put it on the top of your TT and run the wires to the camera and put the antenna straight up??? One wire has a pig tale type wire with it?? Maybe for some other camera??

Based on the photo you posted, it looks like the black cabling (the "Y" section) takes the power from your TT's power feed (the one currently attached to your camera) and then splits it to both the camera and the booster. Obviously, the coax cable attaches to the camera and replaces the camera's antenna. The camera signal now goes from the camera through the coax cable and is then "boosted" and finally transmitted by the booster's antenna.

Does this seem like the possible intent of it's installation?

Of course, I'd hook it up temporarily and try it out on the road to verify any improvement the booster makes. If the quality is still sketchy, you could try extending the original camera's antenna down the roof toward the cab using one of THESE.

I got this issue too, after emails to Haloview staff and got solutions as below.
1) if you bought a MC7108 already, just need to buy Haloview CA613 Wireless Rear View Camera For Range Dominator System.
link: https://www.haloview.com/ca613-wirel...or-system.html
this include the tx-box, ca613 camera and extension cable which makes the camera much more closer to the monitor to solve wireless signal issue for long trailer even on the freeway.

2) if you haven't bought Haloview camera, remember to buy RD7 if it'll be over 32ft from the monitor to the camera that you plan to mount on your vehicles.

They got plenty videos about RD7 on Youtube, search "haloview rd7" will get you there.
