KK4ZYM, General class. I'm on 2m repeaters and sometimes simplex for my daily commute (FT-2900R or FT-8900R depending on vehicle). I'm also on HF using a TS-480SAT. I also spend some time on QRZ.com forums.

kinda wish there was an interface between FLDIGI or HRD/DM-780, at least I get the basics of those.

being in an apartment is kind of a killer for practicing and learning the modes and troubleshooting issues.
Being in an apartment is even more reason to use digital modes as you can do so much with almost no power. I use WSPR at 10mw and reaching Europe and the west coast on a regular basis.

You need to try FT-8 and WSJT-X

https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html

It's the wild west out there! Complete QSOs in 2 minutes in heavy HF noise.

FT8 Mode is Latest Bright Shiny Object in Amateur Radio Digital World

Still learning all the ins and outs of this fantastic protocol and program!
