has anyone replace the sofa bed with recliner sofa or recliners?

we've looking at a TT for the near future.
problem is that, for our Avalanche to tow, we are limited to a certain size and weight. nearly all in our range, have dinette and sofa bed in the living area.
we don't need an extra bed and would prefer a recliner sofa or two recliners.

so, has anyone removed the sofa bed, if it's possible and replaced it?
or has anyone ordered their TT with a recliner sofa or two recliners, in place of the sofa bed?

Some people have done just that.

Getting it done would depend on how much room the trailer would have for such a mod.

Would losing the dinette be a problem if necessary?

the models we're considering DON'T have recliners as an option.
and we want to keep the dinette booth, since that could be setup as a bed for someone. just don't need two things that convert into a bed.

Dan, contact the manufacturers directly about the recliners, I've found most are willing to do minor customizations (heck, Prime Time created a prototype with a u-shaped dinette just for us). If you sell the reason, they're often willing to work with you.

We have LazEboy Harbortown recliners which we bought separately. firs took the couch out, then put it back in and took the kitchen table and chairs out. Put in a raising top coffee table (camping world) and like that best.

The recliners have a removable back, so they are easy to get into the camper

We replaced a sleeper sofa with a reclining love seat in our Gulf Stream. We got the love seat at a Grand Home Furnishings warehouse. We first pulled the sofa out to the middle of the floor and made sure it wasn't needed for anything and wasn't connected in any way. Then, we measured (and cleaned) the space where it was. I also investigated whether or not it would come apart for easy removal (the back and cushions were easily removed). Then, we went shopping and found the perfect reclining love seat - right size, right color, and comfy!

We too are thinking about removing dinette and finding some type of sofa or double recliners. I am a little concerned about tongue weight increasing though because it would sit across the front wall.

Velcro your mother-in-law to the back wall of the camper and it will offset the sofa. I'd like to do that after hearing her rant about the Denver Bronco's debacle..
