Has anyone used Sidekick as a tabletop grill?

Our camper came with a Sidekick. We have used it on 3 camping trips so far but since it is right next to the window and door, we had to shut them each time we used it because of the smoke. This time we set it on the picnic table, a little bit away from the camper. The stand it sets on seems way too wobbly that it seems dangerous. It also sits up so high that I had to set it on the seat of the picnic table instead of on the table itself. I thought I had the stand set up wrong but I just looked at pictures of it online and it shows that I had it set up correctly. Has anyone used it this way?
