Heading out in the a.m

I'm so excited that I doubt I'll sleep tonight. The Dw, 4 daughters and I are heading out of southwest Michigan in the morning for our 1st long distance trip with the camper. We are making an overnight stop in Lexington at the Kentucky horse park campground ( my 14 yo is a total horse nut and will absolutely love it. She has watched the movie secretariat 1000x's. Seriously) Then after dad makes a nice eggs and bacon breakfast we will head on down to dandridge TN to anchor down rv resort for 7 nights. It's also my oldest daughters birthday tomorrow (20th, man I'm getting old lol). So I'm sure it'll be a memorable one for her. I'm glad she decided to go at the last minute. Gonna be a tight fit up front with the additional passenger but I'm excited to see how the 6.4 ram does. It will be my 1st time towing with it.

Have fun and be safe. We take off after work tomorrow for our initial 2016 trip of the season. Just a local state park but it's still camping!

Enjoy your trip and your family! A week is a nice amount of time to feel like you have gotten to settle in a little and get used to the unit. That is so exciting!

I'm jealous, still to cold here in NE Ohio to de winterize the water system so no plans to camp until May.

that is so awesome... a friend of the family, that passed away recently, had a beautiful horse ranch there in lexington....
BTW speaking of Secretariat, i had the privilege of interviewing Laffit Pincay, the jockey of Sham, for 2 hours. He had some wonderful stories to tell of the movie, Secretariat & Sham. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME to go to Claiborne Farms, Secretariat's Home, just a few miles outside of Lexington.
YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!

I would love to take the family there. I'm assuming they do tours? I tried looking at their website and didn't come across anything. Edit: I found it.

I bet that was awesome to interview pincay. Sham was an amazing horse also.
