Heat Pumps are Annoying

This weekend a Phaeton motor home was two sites away from us and whenever the temp got to above about 45 degrees, their heat pump/s would kick on. I swear those things are louder than a leaf blower and at least four times louder than a standard RV air conditioner. Is this normal?

Yeah I know what you mean they can be loud. It should be the same noise level as the normal a/c running but it probably stands out more because most others are running there electric fireplaces or propane so the few people running heat pumps standout!
