Dale, from what I understand, there are RV GPS devices where you enter your dimensions and you should be routed accordingly. From what I have researched, they are not 100% accurate. When you are hooked up, you should note your total height.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say out West you should be OK.

Rvtripwizard.com has you enter rig height and will map out any low bridges along the way or nearby. It is paid and has a yearly fee but worth it to me as I use it for all my trips.

There was a link to a site somewhere to add data to your GPS but never did figure out if it worked.

If old school Rand McNally Motor Carriers'*Road*Atlas spiral bound is about $40 at truck stops and assumes 13'6".

Be aware. All bridges under 15 ft are suppose to be posted with their height. Don't assume anything.

Allstays is pretty accurate in Western States.

This is something that I'm going to have to start keeping an eye out when we pick up the new fiver. With the Flagstaff, as long as the first number wasn't an 11' or less, we never paid much attention.

Find a flat area use a level and a tape measure and get an accurate height and then always try to give yourself a few extra inches in case of bounce legal is 13’6”

Be very careful of heights that you see on signs if they are 2" above your fiver they might be wrong if they resurfaced the roadway 4" and they are off by that amount..

If a Bridge or overpass is not marked it’s supposed to be 13ft 6in tall, commercial trucks is that tall.

Another app you might find useful is “tricker path”. It is designed to route trucks. Shows low clearance, fuel, hotels, rest stops and more. We find it very reliable.

Low clearance

Our fifth wheel is 13’ 6”. However you would think if a gas station sells diesel that their expansions over the pumps would be high enough for semi’s NOT TRUE. Keep an eye on those too. Plus your tail swing. If it wasn’t for my DH to have a hawk eye passenger we might have met up with the can opener.
