HELP!!! Black water on silverback 29 ik

My black water valve (cable??) is not working. I have pulled the cable open and nothing happens ,the cable will not push back in. Has any one opened up the bottom of their trailer to get to the spot that the cable and valve hook up. I think the cable has slipped on the valve. now I have to remove a section of the under bell not sure were to cut the silver insulation to get to the valve. I hope someone can help.

At least on my 33IK, drop the belly pan section ahead of the section that has the 3" dump with cap. The valve is a few inches inboard of the frame rail on the front of the tank. You'll not need to cut away the insulation ... just push it back toward the center of the fiver enough to work. The cable goes into a metal tube on the blade of the valve. A set screw holds the cable in the tube. ... depending on your issue, put the cable back in the tube and tighten the set screw. If the valve is totally shot ... flush the tank bunches of times before you remove the valve ... it'll be stinky and a bit messy. While you're in there tidy up the wire and hose mess with wire ties ... it might benefit you down the road.

Maybe their is a big turd clogging it up. Lol. Just un screw the underbelly where the pipe goes up and take a look, you also might have a broken cable, mine was. Or like u said slipped.

can anyone tell me if the black tank is the one closest to the 3" drain pipe

Here's what I found to be wrong with mine this week. The center wire of my black valve cable had come out of the metal cylinder (see pic). I reinserted it and tightened the Allen head set screw. All is well - mostly.

Black tank forward ... grey tank rearward. The black tank's valve is 3" and located to the front of your fiver ... the grey tank valve is 1.5" and located to the rear of your fiver. The photo of the cable, set screw, and cylinder is what I was trying to describe earlier. I dropped the belly cover segment with the 3" drain line down first only to find that was the grey tank. It's the next segment forward for the black tank. The galley tank dump valve is also 1.5" and is located even more rearward.

This is great advice! I was "swarmed" by a half a bale of wire when I dropped the belly cover... had to fight my way out Ninja-style.

You might want to consider an electric valve. Eliminates the cable. Solved my cable failure problem after two replacements.

Have a 29rk Silverback and have worked on the black valve. The valve and cable can be accessed just forward of the outside drain. The panel comes out with a few screws and some flexing of the panel to remove.

Am I understanding it right, the valve will not close. Have you tried the hose flush for the black water tank. Try to wash out tkhe obstruction. I also have a 2015 29IK silverback.
