Help!! Newbie Joining the 4-Down Crowd

We have a 2014 Sunseeker 2500TS on an E450 Ford Chassis with the V-10. We are taking a 3 month trip and decided to get a toad. After considerable research, we decided on a 2012 Jeep Liberty that had only 8.050 original miles and a clean CarFax. The typical "old lady" story, but this proved to be true, original bill-of-sale and all. It has some minor bruises from the old lady parking by contact that will be taken care of next week.

We have purchased:
1. Blue Ox tow bar and a 4-month old Blue Ox Patriot brake unit used.
2. We now have a Blue Ox BX1131 base plate that will be installed when the front bumper cover is replaced next week.
3. I have installed a Blue Ox BX8869 bulb and socket tail light wire kit that only will operate when in toad mode and off the TV. The Jeep is set up for this application.
4 I have also installed an RVbrake Towed Battery Charger TBC-12014 that will charge the toad when plugged into the TV. The Sunseeker is wired so that the power to the toad goes off when the TV ignition is turned off. The battery charger instructions does not recommend a diode
5. The Jeep Liberty was built to be towed with the transfer case in neutral, the ignition off, and the transmission in park. Except for the cigarette lighter that goes off with the Jeep ignition switch (a slight engineering oversight). Consequently, I have run a fused cigarette lighter from the battery for exclusive use by the Blue OX Patriot. The Patriot will have to be unplugged if stopping for an extended period.
6. Because the Sunseeker splash guards are not the best, We have purchased a Smart Solutions 01696 Rock Solid Protective Guard to help protect the toad. This is a full width guard across the rear bumper.

We have done other mods to the Liberty not pertinent to this thread. So, the reason for the thread is 2-fold. Did I miss anything on setting the Liberty up as a toad? And though we have towed various type of trailers and are very experience with large rigs, we have not towed 4-down. We are aware that we can not reverse with a toad, but we are open to any and all suggestions for steps connecting the toad to the TV, settings on the Patriot remote, and tips/tricks you experienced folks can contribute.

This has been a great site to learn and contribute. Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated. Will also consider any sure-to-win lottery numbers. By the way, wishing you all Happy Holidays!
