Help with converting dinette to recliners:

We have a 24" 2015 Vibe. We have an extra large dinette set but would like to take that out and replace it with two recliners. This sits on top of the slide out. Would this work. Or replace it with a couch. We just want something more comfortable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't know why not. You just have to make sure you don't have anything under the dinette. We replaced a jackknife with a Flexsteal comfy couch and just made sure it straddled the storage compartment under it. No reason you couldn't do it on the slide out.

Thank you. Do you have to get an RV couch or do you think you could get a regular couch or love seat to use in this space?

We have a '15 27RLWS and we pulled the couch out and replaced it with two recliners. We bought them from RTG. Next we will replace our u shaped dinette with a normal couch. You should have no problem with replacing the dinette. Click image for larger version

If you are putting it on the slide out you can just get a regular couch or love seat. If it has any obstructions such as a storage area you would need an RV type to provide the clearance. I like what Mike did (above). I think I too will pull our dinette and replace with recliners. Makes much more sense than the extra large dinette being there is only the two of us.

I think I like the recliners better than a couch. Our U shaped dinette is in our slide out. So I think I will replace it with recliners. I am sorry but could you tell me what RTG is. I am kind of new to camping and this forum. Thank you

Yep, Rooms To Go Furniture. I found them to be much cheaper than rv furniture.

Over this winter, we took our dinette out for a reclining loveseat. We did that instead of recliners for two reasons. 1. Found it at Costco with a better cost to quality. 2. Left room for me to build an end table with storage under it.

We've only been out twice with it this year. It's made a huge difference. It feels like being home when we turn in for the night!

I'll post a picture when I get a chance later.

Not in a slide but should work also.
I sold the dinette (used once) for $300 in one day on Craiglist.
I call it " The Lounge" now.
Part sports bar, Movie theatre (32 " TV in the overhead passenger side), dining room.

With small cocktail table folded out:

With articulating dining table in:

Took out wiggling dinette set from one slide
Added library table...office wor, eat, computer, etc

Remove miserable couch from other slide
Added 2 massaging electric recliners...extends pretty flat, so a perfect nap.

Everything just needs to stay on the slide...

Your rv looks much larger than ours. I love it though. Ours is small and I really want to take out the unlevel dinette set. We are beginning to work on it I thin.
