Help with installation Furrion Rear View camera

We have a 2017 5th wheel Chaparrlal 336TSIK. I am trying to add a Furrion rear camera. This trailer has a housing mounted at the top of rear back wall. When I removed the cover on the housing there is no electrical plug - in for the camera. There are 2 wires looped in the housing, a green and a white wire. I assume they go to the running lights. The harness wire that came with the camera has a red & black wire on it.
How do I connect the wiring?

Thanks for your help.

I'm trying to remember my install. I do remember I bought the wrong model camera and it came with the housing (so it had extra parts) you may need to take of that housing and look behind? I thought mine had a coax cable but cant remember.

Green is supposed to be ground and white is supposed to be neutral - according to the national electricians code.
Do you have a DC voltmeter?

With your running lights on one of the two wires either the green one or the white one should read 12 volts to ground

I can't check it now. After I find out which is the 12 Volt ( hot wire ), do I assume the other is the ground ? Then do I hook up one wire from the camera harness to the 12 volt ( hot wire ) and the other to the other wire ?

Thanks for all your help

Yes, the one that reads 12 volts is you hot, goes to red for power to camera.

Mine was white-ground and white with a stripe-hot. The camera is red-hot, black-ground.

Don't forget that you will probably have to turn on the tow vehicle headlights to see power at the camera wires

The NEC doesn't apply to low-voltage wiring

I don't believe the NEC applies to low-voltage wiring.

There's an old saying about standards: "The great thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from."

The most common usage you will see is red=positive, black=negative. Look for example at the snap-fastener on the 9v battery your home smoke detector. Or look at your car battery. This is nearly universal throughout the world but...

For some reason, the RV folks had to be different. White is negative. Positive could be red or black.

Green was hot. If you search this forum you'll find several discussions about wiring Furrion Cameras. I remember that the Green was hot and the black went to white. Should turn on with the running lights.

I haven had time to check wiring yet, I pretty sure green is hot and white in ground, so red camera wire goes to green on trailer & black on camera goes to white on trailer.
